Since we are a specialty club (also known as advanced club), we do require that you be a member of another club OR have either achieved your Competent Communicator Award or completed Level 2 in one Path. Please check with our contact person, prior to visiting our club – we may need to move the meeting due to holidays or weather. We meet at the Tracy Gee Community Center, just inside Beltway 8, between Westpark and Richmond. Where does Storytellers Toastmasters Meet? We meet the first Thursday night of each month. When does Storytellers Toastmasters Meet? Members have the opportunity to practice their stories in prepared speeches, and expand their table topic abilities by weaving a group story. Each meeting has an educational session highlighting an aspect of effective storytelling. Storytellers Toastmasters is an advanced club that specializes in the aspects of telling stories in a speech environment. Yet, when it comes to speaking at a Toastmasters function, we find Toastmasters hesitant to build on their story telling experiences. We exchange family stories with friends, make up stories of ghosts and goblins, and tell stories of our last vacation.

Later, we exchange stories at the dinner table. The earliest stories we are exposed to probably come to us from books.

We are surrounded by stories from childhood to adulthood. Stories keep the listener interested in what the speaker has to say. Stories allow the listener to connect with the speaker. All effective speakers use stories to punctuate any points within their speeches.
